How the BLS Uses The U-6 Unemployment Rate

The U-6 Unemployment rate is a metric used by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. It helps economists, analysts and investors supplement the official U-3 labor utilization metric by enhancing quantitative assessment of business performance, economic trends and the national employment profile. The U-6 is not completely accurate due to shortcomings in data gathering and statistical sampling method.
